Andrea Dworkin's Reading and Lecture

Andrea Dworkin

Author of eleven books, including Intercourse, Pornography, and most recently, Scapegoat: The Jews, Israel, and Women's Liberation, Andrea Dworkin was a well-known feminist and activist. Viewed as a perennial leader in the campaign against pornography, Dworkin--along with legal scholar, Catherine A. MacKinnon--drafted legislation declaring pornography to be a form of sexual discrimination.

In her 1997 article, "Rage and Reason," (The New Republic), Martha C. Nussbaum states that "Dworkin's prose is a powerful instrument... She is inspired to indignation and grief by the evils of violence against the female body."

Listen to Andrea Dworkin read and lecture at the 2002 Ohio University Sprong Literary Festival.
