Audio Interview with Archer Mayor

Archer MayorArcher Mayor, author of fifteen novels and several history books, talks with David Kurz in this 2004 interview. Mayor discusses the characters in his police procedural novels, which include The Sniper's Wife, Gatekeeper, and The Surrogate Thief. He tells of his initial attempts to write novels and how he moved from writing nonfiction to fiction.

Winner of the 2004 New England Book Award for Fiction, Archer Mayor explores the intersection of good and evil in the lives of police, criminals, and their families and friends. He sees his stories as novels of conflict, rather than mysteries, and attributes his insight into human nature as a result of living in over thirty places while growing up.
