Fictional writer Armistead Maupin talks about his latest novel, The Significant Others, and his ability to do his best work when he is under pressure. Armistead writes about homosexuals to a general audience with hopes that people will better understand each other. He also discusses what it was like growing up in Raleigh, North Carolina and his experience with the AIDS crisis.
