Eleanor Wilner


Eleanor Wilner has published five volumes of poetry, including Reversing the Spell: New and Selected Poems, Precessional, and Otherwise. She is the recipient of several prestigious awards such as the John William Corrington Award for Literary Excellence from Centenary College, a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship, and a National Endowment for the Arts Creative Writing Grant. She received an Honorary Doctorate from Goucher College in 1999.

Poet Alicia Ostriker applauds Wilner's poetry "for its visionary amplitude and revolutionary intelligence."

Eleanor Wilner earned her M.A. and her Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University. She is currently on the faculty of the M.F.A. Program in Writing at Warren Wilson College in North Carolina.
