Gregory McDonald, author of the Fletch series, Running Scared, and several others, is known best as a mystery novelist. Being stereotyped by his Fletch series, Gregory McDonald has had to stand against large publishing firms in order to have his non-mystery books published. The publishers were afraid to print them for fear that it would hurt sales of the Fletch series. McDonald also talks about Chevy Chase playing the character, Fletch, and the way Chase personified the character.
