Herbert Martin

Herbert Woodward Martin, poet, lecturer, actor, narrator, is perhaps best known for bringing to life the poet, Paul Laurence Dunbar, through performance of Dunbar's work.

In this hour-long lecture, Dr. Martin, professor of English language and literature at the University of Dayton, explores the many threads of African American oral traditions with examples of songs, sermons, and poems.
