Audio Interview with Jayne Anne Phillips

Jayne Ann Phillips, author of The Secret Country, Fast Lanes, Black Tickets, Machine Dreams, Shelter, and Motherkind, talks with Don Swaim about her first book, Sweethearts. She wrote Sweethearts before she went to college in Iowa, which was a small press book and discusses how helpful it was to be published before attending college. She also talks about easing into writing novels by starting out writing poems and short stories first.
