Louis Auchincloss, author of The Scarlet Letters, The Rector of Justin, and Powers of Attorney, speaks with Don Swaim about what prompted him to start writing. Unlike many authors, Auchincloss claims that he can write almost anywhere. The pair go on to discuss characters in novels and Auchincloss states that every character an author creates is a partial extension of the author. Listen
