During a book tour Paul Monette stops to talk with Don about his book, Borrowed Time, in this 1990 interview. The book is Paul's attempt to record the chronicle of the twenty months before his friend's death and he discusses the feedback he recieved from readers about the book. He also discusses the AIDS epidemic and the attitudes people have towards AIDS victims and the disease itself.

In Paul Monette's novel, Halfway Home, he chose an Irish family for his central characters and in this 1991 interview he explains why. Paul also talks about why it is so difficult to write his autobiography, Becoming a Man: What It Was Like to Grow up Gay, his concept of Jesus, and the AIDS epidemic.
