Audio Interview with Penelope Lively |
| In this 1988 interview with Don Swaim, Penelope Lively talks about her novel, Moon Tiger. She tells how she first wrote children novels then later, novels for adults. Lively discusses growing up in Cairo, Egypt and then moving to England where she graduated from Oxford and met her husband. Penelope Lively received the Carnegie Medal for her children's book, The Ghost of Thomas Kempe, in 1973. Another book for children, A Stitch in Time, earned her the Whitbread Award in 1976. She received the Booker Prize in 1987 for her novel, Moon Tiger. Listen
