Former journalist Ward Just talks about his most recent novel Jack Gance in this 1989 interview with Don Swaim. His father and grandfather both worked in the newspaper business, and Ward did the same. He also discusses his transition from journalist to novelist, and his love for teaching.

In this 1991 interview with Don Swaim, Ward Just discusses his book The Translator, and the main character of the book, Sydney who is German, but leaves Germany for Paris to become a translator. Just also talks about living in Paris for many years.
