Audio Interview with William Heyen

William Heyen discusses his feelings toward the Holocaust, and why he started writing poems about the event. He also talks about growing up in Long Island, and how he came to be an English teacher. Heyen is the author of Erika: Poems of the Holocaust, Long Island Light: Poems and a Memoir, and Crazy Horse In Stillness, which has won the National Small Press Book Award for Poetry. He also reads two of his favorite poems in this 1984 interview with Don Swaim.
